Multiple points

The object of this exercise was to arrange objects in a still life that is "active rather than obvious" (though not sure that these are actually the opposite of one another - one can be obviously active....).

Using the guidelines in the notes, I set up a home gaming still life, using a bridge scoring card and some playing cards to add some limited framing, then added dice and playing pieces to the scene.

This is how it played out after some rearranging:










By the end, we have a couple of groups - the similarity of the dice tends to make the eye naturally group them together and the curve the dice form almost seems to exclude the green and white playing pieces and the black draught (which in themselves then form a natural triangle) making a trapezium shape with the black playing piece and the counters.
